About Josh

Hi there! i’m a 44 years old husband and father to an amazing 8 year old girl.   I’m a pretty normal guy who does pretty normal things.  I love movies, water sports, reading and my family.  I’ve always been a glass half empty, worst case scenario kind of guy… But despite those qualities, I think I’m fun and happy… lol.  I was never the most healthy guy in the world.  I’ve smoked (but quit 2 years ago), I drink (probably more than I should sometimes), I didn’t always eat as many veggies as I should have, and I definitely drank a lot more Diet Coke than I should have.  But I wasn’t the least healthy human either.  I’ve always been pretty active and at some points have exercised regularly.   I’ve never been considered overweight (6′, 160-180 lbs) and I’ve never had any major health issues (aside from the occasional fever or cold).  My blood pressure and cholesterol have always been within healthy limits.  But none of that really matters…  In August of 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare form of Appendix Cancer.  It’s classified as a “Poorly differentiated mucinous adenocarcinoma with patchy signet ring cell features, invading through the muscularis propria to the mesoappendix, tumor size at least 3.5 cm”.  Now… my “About Josh” page is simply about living with no regrets and stacking the deck in my favor as much as humanly possible.  I am definitely focusing on being the positive one who thinks about the hope in all situations.  My glass is more than half full and I love to think about the “best case scenario”!!

I’m an open book on this epic journey I’ve embarked on… So please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have.  My wife and I felt very lost in the beginning of this whole thing.  But we’ve learned so much and would love to share everything we’ve learned along the way.
